Rock-techno with a groove brilliant genius sorta stuff
7 MP3 Songs
ELECTRONIC: Pop Crossover, ROCK: Progressive Rock
Details:
What is the Spirit Daddies? The Spirit Daddies is the music of one Owen "Matt" Boyle, a musical genius living in the remote backwoods of Alaska. A multi-instrumentalist, Matt has recorded snippets of his own music, and then combined these all in a techno pastiche, the result being a groovy, techno-rock sorta thing. Think, perhaps, of what Moby might sound like if he ate meat. But unlike a lot of techno, the songs are tuneful and melodic as well as full of intense rhythms, and there's a sense of humor pervading the albu,, too (check out the hog samplings on "hog wild"). The Dolphin Conspiracy Theory is a concept album, along the lines of Brian Eno's "taking tiger mountain". It's an album that you can hum along to, listen to intently, or play as great background music to a quiet night or a groovalicious party.
