Making it up as he goes along has always been Sp3ccylad's way. A precocious and sensitive child, he developed a love of loud music early on with his ear pressed against his mother's piano as she hammered away her frustrations. This developed into a penchant for pressing his ear to frustrated women and a desire to make a noise all of his own.

Sp3ccylad's style is expressed more in working than in than in emulating. Leaping freely through musical styles, he balances a horror of being viewed as too eclectic with a basic inability to make his mind up. The result is a body of work that throws rules out the window.

If there's one desire in Sp3ccylad's heart, it's making what sounds to him like the perfect pop song. In fact, you could say he's in love with pop - but this is a kind of pop that plays with boundaries, mixing unexpected elements at times to confound and surprise his listeners.

In a nutshell, this means that Sp3ccylad is as surprised as the rest of you when he produces his next song. He's no idea what it will be until it comes out - which probably means he'll never "make it" in the traditional sense.
