An acoustic album with some progressive-rock influences
12 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Acoustic, ROCK: Progressive Rock
Details:
Guitarist, Vocalist, Songwriter
From the Southtowns area of Western New York, Scott Helfrich has been performing in the Western New York region and Canada since 1986. Both as a solo act, as well as a member of various original Progressive Rock projects. Scott draws on a wide range of influences, from his classical / Jazz training, as well as from popular artists from Dan Fogelberg all the way to Frank Zappa. The main influences and passion comes from the progressive rock genre, of which Genesis, Peter Gabriel, Yes, Rush and King Crimson are drawn from.
From song to song, the idea is to mix things up - not just staying in one style, feel, or sound. Variety is the spice, after all....
Politics (with a unique twist) frequently finds its way into the lyrical content, as well as a wide range of observations and life experiences. The same old 'love' songs are not found here....
