Shawn "Pocket" Evans. Producer, Musician, Writer and Composer. Shawn is a native of Oakland, California where he first discovered his passion for music through playing drums. In his quest to expand his knowledge, "Pocket" was introduced to the world of Music Production by Carl Wheeler and Timothy Christian of Tony Toni Tone. In the Mid 90's, "Pocket" was signed as a Staff Producer to Innerscope Records. He has had the honor of working with such producers and artists as Juanita Wynn, Derrick "DOA" Allen, Cornell West and Dawn Silva from "Original Bride of Funkenstein." Currently, "Pocket is the founder and President of Pocket Phunk Productions. Pocket will be introducing his first solo gospel project in the summer of 2005 entitled, "Contemporary Praise."
Shawn "Pocket" is an anointed vessel of God and recognizes that all he has is a gift from God. In an effort to share that gift, "Pocket" is establishing a not-for-profit organization-"Ketchum Young"-which will be geared toward today's "Youth and Music."
When not ministering to the community through song, Pocket serves as a Staff Musician at the New Testament Baptist Church in Sacramento, California.
Pocket's music is intended to reach the city of the souls through the truth (gospel) of Jesus Christ. It's contemporary, yet urban flair has the ability to reach a variety of souls both saved and unsaved.
