A New Breed of Singer/Songwriter Has Emerged...
A former Systems Engineer, Sherri Mullen left her âday jobâ in 2000 and set out to pursue a career in music. The classically trained pianist had been writing songs since she was a teenager, but was too shy to share them with anyone. Everything changed when she picked up a guitar and began taking lessons. Within several months she hit the stage as part of an acoustic duo team performing around the Central Pennsylvania area, while writing songs for her first album. Her voice has been compared to such greats as Pat Benetar, Ann Wilson (Heart), Bonnie Raitt, and Melissa Etheridge.
In 2002, Sherri released her debut album called MASK. Her first single, âHome of the Freeâ is a patriotic song that has made its way around the globe as a tribute to our service men & women. This song is also featured as the theme song in a local TV show. Various songs from the CD were featured on radio shows around the country.
In December 2005, Sherri released her sophomore CD entitled ON THE EDGE. This highly anticipated CD showcases Sherriâs versatility and growth as a songwriter, singer, and musician. It contains an eclectic mix of highly commercial/professionally produced pop and rock songs slated for pitching to the film/TV market, combined with bootleg âfan favoritesâ spanning rock, pop, blues, country, and reggae, that Sherri recorded and produced herself. Several of the tracks have already been licensed to appear in independent films in the United Kingdom, during the film festival circuit!
With well over 100 original songs in her catalogue, this musical chameleon shows no signs of slowing down.
In addition to her busy schedule as a performing singer/songwriter in heavy demand, Sherri is a Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) Workshop Coordinator for the Eastern Pennsylvania region, and she is the Executive Producer for a weekly internet radio show & she co-hosts a monthly cable television show dedicated to exposing the talents of other musicians.
Sherri is currently pursuing publishing deals and TV/film placement of her recorded material and working on new material for future albums and for other artists, while touring in support of her latest independently released CD.
