10 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Hard Rock, METAL: Progressive Metal

Details:
SHINING STAR's ENTER ETERNITY, Features EX BALANCE OF POWER vocalist LANCE KING from BOOK OF SECRETS / TEN MORE TALES.../ PERFECT BALANCE. Shining Star is a Brazilian jewel ad one American vocalist.... being molded by guitarist Fabio Rocha. This is the follow up release to their highly acclaimed debut âFatal Mistakeâ. The new CD âEnter Eternityâ has gone in a new direction by adding Melodic /power metal vocalist Lance King. The opening track âNightmare,â brings back memories of my favorite vocalist Frank DiMino of Angel. Shining Star is burning bright and so is King.

Fabio just tears those strings to shreds making Yngwie look second class. The songs are melodic and are written to perfection. This is not just power metal this is class. âFrom Now Onâ is top notch and has hooks to catch the wave of true melodic metal fans. âDangerous Gameâ is another killer track that will warp your mind with pleasure. The chorus is catchy and King vocals are phenomenal and with those peaks of screaming guitar by Fabio⦠this release is sensational.

REVIEWS in their own words....

Shining Star: Enter Eternity

The second album from Brazilian based power/prog-metal band Shining Star sees the addition of busy singer Lance King on lead vocals. His joining forces with the band takes a formidable line-up and makes it that much better, propeling Enter Eternity to lofty heights with some seriously well written and expertly performed songs. King shares the spotlight in Shining Star with guitar virtuoso Fabio Rocha , who provides plenty of crunch and delicate class on electric and acoustic guitars, literally shredding in the fine tradition of players like Yngwie Malmsteen, Michael Romeo, Vinnie Moore, Tony MacAlpine, and John Norum. His tasty, classically oriented lead passages mix with an assortment of heavy and complex riffs, igniting some fierce interplay with keyboardist Dinno Zampier on "From Now On". On "Dangerous Game", singer King delivers some soaring & melodic vocals, giving this catchy piece an almost TNT-meets-Symphony X feel, made all the more impressive when Rocha rockets through the mix with a blistering wah-wah laced guitar solo. Other highlights include the sweeping hooks of "Insomnia", the Savatage influenced "Just A Man", and the symphonic metal stomp of "No More", complete with plenty of stunning leads from Rocha. Fans of epic sounding progressive metal will revel in the heavy riffs, orchestral keyboards, intricate rhythms, and emotional vocals of "Travel Through Time", a tune that packs a punch with plenty of groove and metal attitude.

Enter Eternity is an album that will not take long to get into if you like catchy progressive/power metal with loads of hooks and bombastic instrumental arrangements. I was pulled in instantly with the opening notes of "Nightmare" and never looked back from there. Lance King has gotten his hands into a lot of different projects lately, and each one so far seems to be a winner-add Shining Star's Enter Eternity to that list as well.

Wow, this little gem just came out of nowhere! Lance
King seems to be attempting to rival James Rivera for
involvement in the most number of projects at once,
currently performing duties for Pyramaze, Avian, and
now, Shining Star. Signed to King's Nightmare label,
Shining Star features the composition and axe talents
of Brazilian Fabio Rocha, drummer Juliano Collombo,
bassist Kuky Sanchez and keyboardist Dinho Zampier.
What you find in spades on ENTER ETERNITY is excellent
songwriting, the music a cool synthesis of Balance Of
Power, Yngwie Malmsteen, TNT and Queensryche. The
playing is solid but never self-indulgent, the songs
are the focal point and there are some absolute
killers here: check out the groove of "Dangerous
Game," the awesome melodies in "Insomnia," or the
majestic theme of "Travel Through Time" to hear what
I'm on about. The sound quality is very good courtesy
of Balance Of Power producer Todd Fitzgerald and of
course Lance's vocals are a highlight throughout.
Highly recommended for fans of melodic hard rock and
metal, ENTER ETERNITY delivers the goods. Lance King
obviously has a great ear for bands who know how to
write strong songs, and I look forward to hearing more
from him as well as the other groups on his label... -

SHINING STAR - Enter Eternity
Nightmare

file under Heavy/power metal

Fons: Brazilian melodic metal band Shining Star recently released their second album, 'Enter Eternity', featuring, former Balance Of Power singer and owner of Nightmare Records, Lance King, and guitar wizard Fabio Rocha. Shining Star recorded a melodic hard rock album with a very bombastical sound, featuring lots of keyboards and a leading role for Fabio Rocha, playing classical, Yngwie Malmsteen like guitar parts. 'Enter Eternity' has nice and catchy compositions in the style of TNT, Kamelot, and Balance Of Power, during their 'Heathen Machine' album, which was, funny enough, the first post-Lance King album. I don't know if King is a full member of Shining Star, or just a guest appearance for one album, but his technical vocals suit the band perfectly. The bombastic sound is very enjoyable and almost all songs are strong compositions and very well structured. King and his mates make an excellent performance on the album. 'Enter Eternity' is a very strong album!

SHINING STAR -ËENTER ETERNITYâ
(NIGHTMARE RECORDS)

Brazilian band with a high quality new CD release on which we can also enjoy the wonderful lead vocals of LANCE KING (ex-BALANCE OF POWER, AVIAN, GEMINI). Actually Lance is making this CD sound like a true winner, although I need to add that also instrumental it all sounds perfect. However, this is the kind of CD I was expecting from Lance since his legendary BALANCE OF POWER record ââ¬ËPerfect balanceâ which is still one of the best Melodic Metal releases in the 2000s. Anyway, with SHINING STAR he has delivered a fantastic Melodic Metal album which sounds a little more polished than the BALANCE OF POWER classic and also reveals some MALMSTEEN similarities. My favorite track is the superb âFrom now onâ with itâs catchy strong chorus sounding like 80s MALMSTEEN meets FATES WARNING/QUEENSRYCHE. In total 10 songs are included, of which the other highlights are âInsanityâ, âDangerous gameâ, âTravel through timeâ and âInsomniaâ (beautiful AORish, very much like SHY/TNT) as well as the beautiful perfect 80s sounding AOR/Melodic Rock ballad âLady of the nightâ that sounds already like a classic! Definitely a winner for any fan of high class Melodic Metal in the style of TNT, 80s QUEENSRYCHE, CRIMSON GLORY, BALANCE OF POWER, SYRUS, MALMSTEEN..., although the AOR/Melodic Rockfans will probably also like this CD a lot. Shining Star - Enter Eternity, Nightmare Records

Back in 2001, Brazilian guitar virtuoso Fabio Rocha decided he wanted to
make a song oriented album that was not an instrumental. His original
efforts, with a Brazilian singer, brought him worldwide recognition and
critical acclaim. In 2003, stellar American vocalist Lance King left
Balance of Power and was asked to join a revamped Shining Star. The
result is the excellent Enter Eternity album. The songs are melodic and
catchy. This is King's best vocal performance since Balance of Power
(and considering how good his other bands, Avian and Pyramaze are,
that's pretty amazing). Rocha's playing will at times remind you of
Yngwie Malmsteen, but he never loses sight of what's really important -
the songs. This is progressive power metal done right! Highlights
include "From Now On," "Insomnia," "Never Too Late," "No More" and "Lady
of the Night" but there isn't a bad song on this CD. (Andy Laudano)
