Details:
Although Sheldan-Rivers (Donalie Sheldan and Ian Rivers) often work with other musicians, on this CD all of the instruments and vocals were done by Donalie and Ian â¦just so you wonât think some hard working musicians didnât get the credit they deserved here.

Many of the songs on this CD were inspired by events in the news. Music is sometimes a coping mechanism â some people call or write their governmental representatives (we try to do that too and carry a sign in a peace march now and then), and we write songs. We are not suited to run for public office so we try to do what we can. Our intention is not to polarize; we are worried about the health of our democracy. We share a belief that it is necessary for the pendulum to swing both to the right and left in a healthy democracy, or it is no longer a representative government. The title of this CD is a quote from an internal government document being circulated during another time in our history when free speech was threatened. J. Edgar Hoover (head of the FBI during the unrest of the 60âs) meant for it to be used by his agents to identify communists and radicals.

We have some really wonderful songs that got sidelined because we felt it necessary to stand up now for democracy and free speech by recording and putting out these songs â we hope to get the others out there soon. Thank you for listening.
