Indie-pop rock featuring attractive melodic underlay with interesting rhythmic elements and a heavy twist
5 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Modern Rock, ROCK: Hard Rock
Details:
Shaking Judy was originally constructed out of an 'idea', the result of a summer spent under midnight skies, by the light of campfires & far away from the constraints of city life. The melodic sensibility of the sound begged an audience, and so, the original setup quickly graduated from sandy beachfront watersides to some of Montrealâs hottest acoustic venues.
Thanks to Hutcheson, whose song-writing forged new-ground in the local scene. The tunes were catchy and radio friendly, but demanded respect from the trained listener. The sound is enhanced by the rhythmic sectionâs elements of syncopation and heavy, progressive-based riffs. Each member of this band is experimenting in his own way; this is allowing the music to guide Shaking Judy into the unknown.
The changeover from 2005 to 2006 was spent at the new Apollo Sound studios. A tremendous amount of planning went into the project. But the excess of hours afforded by their engineer and producer, Richie Vincent, resulted in an emotionally reflective 5 song EP titled, "Songs for Apollo".
With their return from the east coast of Australia, sporting a selective fan base that spans continents, Shaking Judy is kicking hard. With a slew of new songs and a ton of projects in line, Shaking Judy is making the rock.
Watch out.
