Details:
Carols for the Blessed Child is an inspiration from her son born in October of 2005. The songs selected for this album include arrangements of holiday favorites as well as a few international carols that sing praises to the special newborn child. It includes pure vocals that may be composed of solos to four-part self-harmonization. Instrumentation that accompanies the voice includes keyboards, guitars, trombone, flute, percussion, accordion, and recorder.
Shannon Alayne is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, arranger, composer and producer, classically trained in voice, piano and composition. She is based out of the Twin Cities in Minnesota, where she performs at special religious services such as weddings or funerals.
She loves to arrange holiday favorites and restyle them a bit but still keeping with the true essence of the song. That may mean anything from a cappella four-part arrangements to a slight jazzy/rock feel to these carols for an easy listening delight.
The featured guitarist on this album is Dana Dezentje. These two have worked together several times including two previous holiday albums including Tis the Season to Fa la la la la (2000) and Yuletide Potpourri (2001). Now, for the third time, as you will hear on this album, both have expanded their diverse talents and created the best holiday album yet for this duo.
Currently, Shannon Alayne (aka Shannon A. Gibson) performs as requested, only after balancing a full-time job as a Systems Developer, raising a family and working on a masterâs degree.
