In August 2005, I competed in a Nashville Star Search Showcase, directed by George McClure of McClure and Trowbridge Publishing, Ltd. in Nashville, TN. I sang 4 cover songs to display my vocal ranges and tones. I chose some upbeat melodies to fit my personality and a slower song to "wow" the judges and listeners. Although I sang country songs, many stated I have a gospel sound. They must have been right. I was offered a gospel recording contract by a Nashville Producer.

I dedicate my cd "My Daddy's Heart" to my grandfather, Willard Craig who sang in the USO for our military units overseas, and to my daddy, James Mailen, who has always sang with me, and to my Father in Heaven for giving me the gift to write and sing in His name.
