Some singers have distinctive voices, whether it's in the texture or tone. Shane Hines' distinction is that his voice is an instrument so powerful it just might move mountains. With a street date of October 25, Shane is back with his third album, Zoë, which will be released on Screaming Goddess Records under the moniker Shane Hines & the Trance. Zoë is the follow up to 2004's Sweet Soul Suicide.
In addition to his soaring vocal ability that is akin to Angie Aparo or even Sting, Shane has a knack as a songwriter for penning melodic pop/rock that suits his vocals as well as the musicianship of his band, and deep yet accessible lyrics. While Zoë incorporates some of the musical elements in Sweet Soul Suicide, Shane and the band take it to another level with a more mature sound evidenced in "A Little Light" and "Amelia." These two selections blend the pop/rock sensibilities with blues and Americana.
After the release of Sweet Soul Suicide to critical acclaim, Shane and his band have been busy touring regionally and building their fan base. In doing so they have garnered a presence in the national media, culminating with an appearance this past April on the WB's "Daily Buzz." They have also been featured on Kings of A&R, and A&R Worldwide, leading to the attention of several major labels and shared the stage with artists like Tonic and Cake. Shane Hines & The Trance will be making their national radio debut this fall to promote Zoë on the syndicated Mitch Albom show.
