space surf punk. audio+multimedia package.

5 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Punk, ROCK: 90's Rock

Details:
This is an audio+multimedia package from 7 Degrees.

Pop-punk is what I get from these guys. They're pretty good and competent musicians. I liked the title track, Down By the Seaside and some of the guitar solos made me think that the guitar player was trying to emulate a keyboard for the solo. A different touch and not a bad one at that.

The song, Space Invader blew me away. Really catchy and sort of space-surfish in a way. Everything you'd expect from a song with a name like that reverb, weird guitar sounds and kooky lyrics, not to mention a killer breakdown!

The beginning of I Am the Water. (note the period) scared me and when the song kicked in, I was still cowering in fear.

The multimedia portion of the CD includes live photos, a virtual interview in which you get to choose questions and then get a response, contact info and the full length video for the song, Down By the Seaside. It's very well produced and makes the CD an enjoyable package all together. (above review by smother.com)

The lead track is a searing blast of late punk with the melodies of the Buzzcocks, a touch of Magazine, ultra-repeated chorus and a great tune.

It's backed up by three others of the same pedigree that recall early Senseless Things fronted by Pete Shelley and the closer I am the water which bravely uses an acoustic guitar with surprising effect. (review by Jimmy Possession.)
