I am from the town of New-Wes-Valley, Newfoundland, Canada. I've always loved to sing, and dreamed of producing a Gospel recording.

Almost all of the songs on this album are Original; three songs were written by my wife (Eliza Keats), four songs were written by Frances Mews from Embree, Newfoundland, one song traditional with unknown author, and the other two songs were writen by me.

The recording was done by a well known band, Siman, also from Newfoundlan. I am sure, if you have heard any of thier work you will know and appriciate their unique style of music.

One very interesting story about a song in this recording, actually it is the cover Song. The cover song is last song that I wrote for this recording, it took me a while to get it started, but as time went on, it was as if God himself was guiding my mind and my hand as i wrote the words. It was one of these moments that you just know, there has to be some purpose to what is being written.

It was a few months later, when I discovered at least one of the impacts that this song would have in someones life. I am not writting this with any intention what so ever to bring attention to myself, but to show what God can do. Without getting into the details of this personal story, I will just share briefly.

A lady who had hit rock bottom in her life, through alcohol and drug addictions, and in fact had lost friends through these addictions, wrote me a letter one day to share her story. Her story shows how God works in miraculous ways. She had a party in her home one night, the next morning, she decides to put some music on, and she picks up my cd, (this is one of the amazing parts, she has no idea where this cd came from, it was in her home, she didnt buy it, and she dont know how she got it.) Thinking that it was probably country music, she puts it on anyway, and the very first song is, "There is a refuge." The words of this song spoke to her heart, and described her situation, "she had hit rock bottom, she had nowhere to turn, her life had hit the lowest of low." But this song points her to a refuge from these citcumstances, "there is a Refuge, In Jesus' nail scarred hands, He really cares, and he understands, he holds you there, when you need someone to care, there is a refuge in Jesus nail scarred hand." This lady has since experienced that new found peace, that can only be found through Jesus.

I hope that these songs can be an inspiration that brings you close to God as well.
