Mischa Chun-Wai Ngan, piano
Mischa Chun-Wai Ngan is a renowned solo and chamber pianist. He performed
in various locations including the United States, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Ngan
is the founding member of Ensemble Finesse and participated in many
prestigious music festivals including Sarasota Music Festival in Florida and
Festival Orford in Canada.
Ngan studied Doctor of Music degree in the Indiana University Jacobs School
of Music under the direction of Professor Edward Auer, who was the first
American to win a prize in the International Chopin Piano Competition in
Warsaw. Ngan was also appointed as an adjunct lecturer and associate
instructor by the school. In 2003, he received full scholarship from the Hong
Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund to pursue Master of Music degree
in the same school.
Nganâs principal mentors include Edward Auer, Arnaldo Cohen, Evelyne
Brancart, Mary Wu, Pinst Tsang. Besides modern piano repertoires, he is
enthusiastic about Early music and music theory. He studied Early music,
harpsichord and fortepiano performance with Professor Elisabeth Wright
and Eva Legene; music theory with Professor Robert Hatten.
