SEMIRANDY
SEMIRANDY is an original melodic punk/rock n roll band. The band was formed in May of 2004 by guitarist and songwriter Ken Kirby. Ken and Jimbo started working with ideas and lyrics to arrange the songs. In September 2004 they added drummer Ron Bell. The band's been writing and rehearsing for 6 months working on their debut CD that was recorded in April 2005. It will be titled Plain and Simple. The release is set for July 2005. along with the 10 songs on the CD, the band enjoys a good work ethic that makes the songs fun to play. So, sing along and pick your favorite, we hope you like it. Look for SEMIRANDY to play in your town soon.
Ken Kirby : Guitar and Vocals
Ken writes and arranges all of the songs with a catchy guitar riff and an interesting vocal line. Each song has a certain magic to it. It's not all about the playing, it's all about the song. Ken has arranged each song to fit a mold that is a little old school with a little new style to give each one a unique sound
Jimbo Jones : Bass Guitar
Jimbo is well known in the area for playing the bass. He knew the songs were special when he first heard them. He brings a full melodic bass line to every song. His attack on the bass is unbelievable, he has structured each song around the lyrics and the drums to give them a solid groove. Jimbo is worth the price of admission himself.
Ron Bell : Drums
Ron is a power drummer with a hard hitting, quick strike attack. He breaks down each song by feeding off of the rhythm guitar for the rhythm and the bass for fullness and tightness. His straight ahead style helps to elevate each song to a different level. After a two year layoff, Ron was called by Jimbo to hear some of the songs....after listening the choice was easy.
