A Few Things About Seizure 17:

You will notice that the band has been downsized, or, as we like to say at Seizure 17, our human assets have been re-evaluated. There are now only two human members of this three-piece and our drummer has been replaced by a robot. We like to call the robot âStan.â

Stan plays with a precision and ferocity unmatched by human drummers. He went to Juliard and seems to have a metronome built right in.

Other band members are Colin McLaughlin-Alcock (guitar/vocals) and Jamie Campbell (bass/vocals).

Colin McLaughlin-Alcock was the former frontman for the punk-rock groups Left On Red and The-Dave-Matthews-Can-Blow-Me-Band. His punk influences are in constant, visible conflict with his training as a classical guitarist. The result is a catchy, edgy, post-grunge sound with lots of tension. It is best described by adjectives like; âfun,â âgritty,â and âfucking awesome.â It sounds like something of a cross between Iggy Pop and the Smashing Pumpkins.

Jamie Campbell also plays bass in the all-girl punk trio, Brat Bangs. She has an amazing, opera trained singing voice, which she plans to destroy with rock-and-roll. She generally kicks ass.

Since it's founding in Dec. 2005 (when Seizure 17 was just a one man/one robot combo), the band has been playing regularly in Philadelphia and New York and is continuing to build a following. They have recorded an album, "Too Pretty For a Riot," and were recently featured on the "Live at the Nail" radio show, which is syndicated to several local Philadelphia stations.

"I dug this performer," wrote Chris, owner of the Rusty Nail on his club's website, "...creative lyrics drew enthusiasm and cheering from the large audience."

Thanks for listening. Stan says hi.
