Fierce Divas Pray

This cross-generational Christian album teaches us that being Christian is having
funâ¦and yes ladiesâ¦you can be fierce and pray!

Below is an interview I did about the single and upcoming album. This interview was with the editor and chief of my online newsletter, KJ Dramaline. Check it out!

This month, D.R.A.M.A. Lineâs Editor in Chief sat down with KJP
CEO, Founder and Owner to learn about her upcoming project, life experiences and
upcoming album entitled Fierce Divas Pray.



What does the name Fierce Divas Pray mean?

Fierce is used to describe someone who is incredibly
and divinely created to be the best in whatever they do, phenomenally and
ridiculously talent, and, most importantly, incredibly anointed.

Divas: Beautiful, sexy (Christians hate to use this word, but
if we could get our flesh under control, we could use this word-and drop dead
gorgeous from the top of her head to the tips of her toes, with her hair whipped
and face beatâ¦also, the term Diva does not denote name brands, but
rather how you wear your Target, Wal-mart and Ashley Stewart.

Pray: This is the fiercest element of a Fierce
Divaâ¦our knowledge that our fierceness does not come from us, but rather
from God.



We understand you are a member of Divas Inc. How has this
organization impacted your album?

I have a tattoo that says divas, which I got during my junior year of
high school. At the time, the term Diva was an acronym for Destiny In Vocals and
Acting. When I arrived at Howard University, I met women who literally, sashayed
across campus and were involved in ALL of the plays, yet not confounded to the
four walls of the Theatre Arts Departmentâ¦âthey were like running the campus.â
I thought this was amazing and I desired to become a member of this
organization.

When I pledged, my process, needless to say, changed my definition of
Diva to Divine, Intelligent, Versatile Artist while also forcing me to deal with
my demons. This was necessary, because as an artist, how can one portray another
character if they do not know who they are? For example, if I did not come to
terms with the fact that men have taken sexual advantage of me, I would not be
able to portray a character that could deliver or needs to deliver themselves
from this situation.

And it my dealing with theseâ issues and transparency about them is
found in the album..Bless someone with a copy, and watch God move in their
lives.



What is your passion and how does music relate to
it?

âWhat is my passion?â is a question that I struggled with for a long
time, because I was gifted in so many areas. It wasnât until recently that
I realized that my passion is to create in every aspect of the word. Small
concept ideas to grand full scheme master pieces-I get a thrill out of taking
nothing and making it something. I get extremely excited and jitters in my
stomach and goose bumps on my body when I write something that no one has ever
heard, sing something that people can relate to or perform that monologue that
has you laughing with stitches and turn you around where you are crying. I love
taking the audience on a journeyâ¦on a mini vacation that they do not have to
pay a lot of money for.

What would you say to your Angel
Investor?

Your money is not money. Your physical green bill is a spiritual
horse and carriage carrying a precious baby that will one day grow up to be an
amazing adult that will bless this world. That baby is KJP and your investment
will do more than financially bless you, because GOD is going to press it down,
shake it together and run it over. God is going to do that, but because of your
generous donation eâs going to do exceedingly and abundantly above that and your
children and and childrenâs children will be blessed from your obedience.

Your website opens with an introduction identifying you as an
actress, song writer, singer and more? Which do you identify with the most?


Worshipper-I sound twenty times better when I am in worship. My
grandmother is a pastor and my mother is an evangelist. As a result, I led
Praise & Worship during church services as a young child. Praise &
Worship teaches you how to be on your toes at all times, because you are
constantly switching to another song by the moving of the Holy Spirit. I was
doing improv before I ever took a class-connecting with a complete source,
staying focused on it and moving with it. It was spiritual improve-connecting
with Christ, moving with Christ and being obedient and going when thus saith the
Lord. Furthermore, it is while I am in worship that Christ reveals the next
great thing to do in the other aspects of who I am mentioned during the
introduction of my website.

What is your message to young women?

Shakespeare said âTo thine own self be
true.â-know yourself. Secondly, the best lover I ever had is a brother that blew
my mind. He did things for me no other brother did: paying my bills, watering my
grass, doing my hair (and no, He ainât gay), and He taught me how to wash
dishes. He literally groomed me. And yes, I love my husband James, but it is not
my husband. It is Jesus and if you want to know what love really feels like, I
tell you to try Jesus.

You may serve Buddha or Allah. So I suggest you try whoever your
higher power is..ask him or her to pay our bills or blow your mind. And if
nothing happens, try Jesusâ¦He wonât fail you.

What was the greatest mistake you made? How can listeners
hear the lesson you learned in the album?

I have two.

1. Proclaiming my fierceness before I knew who I was â for the devil
to know that I am anointed and to mess with me is a problem

2. Declaring disobedience against GOD-There is a difference between
unintentional and intentional sin; ignorant sin and wisdom sin. Wisdom sin is
when you commit a sin even though you have been told and preached to about
it.

What do lyrics mean to you?

They are the equivalent to going to the movies, getting popcorn and
having to get butter, because it is not popcorn without butter. Lyrics are like
a kitchen without a stove. They are like Jesus Christ going to the cross, but
not staying there. There would be no meaning to the cross if He never died. The
same is true of a set of beats without lyrics. A song without lyrics equals
death to the beatmaker.

What message does your album convey to readers?

The being Christian is fun and you do not have to isolate
yourself from people to have fun.

Who is your audience?

Women and young people and soon
to come, my husband and Iâs collaborative projectâs audience will be couples and
men.

What should readers know about Fierce Divas?

It does not sound like it is Christian. Donât be alarmed
when you by the CD and think it was placed in the wrong section.

Is the FDP project filling a whole in gospel, music or
expanding on what we already have?

Due to the work of Mary Mary and Kirk Franklin , we are
expanding on what we already have , because of its risky content and
unforgivable rhythm and beats, it is definitely creating an urbanized Christian
Wave called Dimension X.

What should readers know about Kiyaana
Cox-Jones?

I am an experience huney (with a smile)! You may want to
dose up on whatever over-the-counter medicine you have, because I am not an
ordinary Christian.

What should readers know about Mommy?

I am raising their next generation of leaders and I take
pride in doing that. Me and Abraham (James) make conscious decisions. Behind
every fierce diva praying is a âsuper gentâ-superman and gentleman-ferociously
covering his diva in prayer as well.

What should readers know about Mrs. Jones?

I am incredibly thankful to God for the
man that He created for me. As a wife, I am always a work progress
as.

I am also thankful that I am able to be
myself with my husband. This means that since I am naturally creative, I am
also creative at home as a wife and mother. This can be seen by how I keep my
husband smiling by finding Paula Dean recipes, and studying the Word of God as
it relates to being a wife. I adore the Proverbs 31 woman.

Remember, behind every anointed woman is a humble man who hears her
cry when the lights are off.
