Details:
The brain core of 'September Red' is Dan Roberts and Bob Somers. Both artists started their careers young, but in different locations. While Roberts was perfecting his vocal skills in Cleveland, Ohio, Bob Somers was honing his guitar skills in Mississippi, Georgia and North Florida. The two met in Gainesville, Florida after Roberts graduated from the University of Florida. They were in bands together and then split off to take on different musical styles. They teamed up again in the mid 90's and started writing country songs. Collectively the two artists have been in bands that have opened for name acts to include Rio Speedwagon, Eddie Rabbit, Jet Williams, The Outlaws, B.J. Thomas, Quiet Riot and Bobby Goldsboro.
Under the name of 'Roberts & Somers', their writing efforts took them to Nashville where they quickly learned on music row that a lot of their songs were above average. This gave them incentive to move on and start another band. The stage is no stranger to these guys. Currently they are packing dance floors all night under the new name of 'September Red' playing a mix of classic rock and county. Every gig turns into more gigs. Their experience doesn't stop on the stage. They have recorded their albums under the production skills of Dan Roberts and have written, mixed and mastered more than three albums. Some of their songs have been on radio stations in North Florida and they have been on internet radio all over the country.
From beating the pavement on music row, to packing the dance floor, to recording their own music they have come full circle. The current transformation into 'September Red' is based around experience in a tested market place. They truly have an idea of what people want to hear.
On their current release of their latest CD, "I See You" the Gainesville Sun wrote "Rock 'n Roll, the good and ol kind, with a bit of country edge." These are songs of happiness, hope and real life packed with emotion and versatility. The music and lyrics were written by Dan Roberts and Bob Somers. But it took the additional talent of the following awesome artists in order to create this CD!
Allen Ash - Bass: "Miracles", "Heaven and Earth", "Greenlight", "Tender Touch", "I See You"
Peter Frizell - Bass: "She's Got a Way", "Denver in the Dust","Don't Cry", "Queen of Hearts"
Joe Loper - Bass: "My Favorite Song"
George Custer - Fiddle: "Denver in the Dust", "Don't Cry"
Joe English - Pedal Steel
Nina D. Kaharl - Cello: "I See You"
Dave Ray - Co Lyricist: "My Favorite Song"
David Roberts - Fiddle: "I See You"
Roberts & Somers share the "Same Dream" of all musicians worldwide. They make music because it's a part of their soul and they want to share their music with the rest of the world. They welcome your comments and hope that you will share with them which one of their songs is your favorite song!
