"I tell stories, ramble and occasionally sing. Sometimes by myself or with others. This album is dark, oppressive and difficult but ultimately cathartic and worth a listen. 'Life is for living, don't be afraid. Open the box.'"
14 MP3 Songs
SPOKEN WORD: With Music, ELECTRONIC: Experimental
Details:
seventh sister - pandoras chinese box (1993)
re-released on CD (2000)
Overview: Fewer songs and more spoken word than previous albums, also more experimentation and better production. The promotional package included the PCB cassette, the usual press kit bio and photos, along with food, postcards or whatever. The contents varied according to the recipient.
Review: "Hypnotic meanderings abound -- Fire Poem, Hell is a on Earth, Part 2 and the hilarious Totally Inadequate are among my faves. Some of Seventh Sister's ramblings may test the less patient among us, but anyone who rhymes 'yellow' with 'Michael Sembello' is OK with me."
-Kath Hansen, Nashville Scene/Riff, May 6, 1993
