Secondary Modern channels the past with one foot in the present. Lyrically reminiscent of Bob Dylan, the band presents itself with the swagger of David Bowie and the intensity of the early punk movement, all the while experimenting with dissonance.
13 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Roots Rock, POP: Beatles-pop
Details:
In January 2005, brothers David and Danny Brown ask Matt Slinkard to "play bass on some songs" at a show after the pair finished a demo. The notion of a hired gun bassist soon faded and Secondary Modern was born. In December of 2005, the band released their first full-length album, "A Finance Opera," which was recorded and mixed in three days that summer. Since then the band's sound has continued to expand, making for intense, wildly varied live sets featuring multiple versions of songs from "A Finance Opera."
