ArSi and Vision
ArSi is a husband and wife team of gospel singers, "Ar" is for Archie K. Milton and "Si" is for Simonia E, Milton. They are featured performers of their group. They perform with heart and soul. This group consists of lead and background vocalist. Their new project is a traditional gospel CD entitled, "I've Got Joy!"
Archie and Simonia Milton are joined by vocalists Javetta Brogan, Simone Milton, Cynthia Perkins. Instrumentalists are Julian Garcia, Brian Quezergue and Joe Saulsberrv. The Miltons are veteran music educators with the New Orleans Public School, as are many other members of the group.
"I've Got Joy'" is a compilation of old traditional gospel songs with the Miltons' style of gospel-New Orleans soul. The new songs Archie and Simonia wrote are a result of Simonia's battle with breast cancer and her miraculous healing.
ArSi and Vision were selected to be in the Louisiana Division of the Arts Touring Directory 2000-2002 & 2002-2004, which is designed to acquaint communities in Louisiana and, neighboring states with performing artist who live in Louisiana and carry a bit of Louisiana with them wherever they travel. Simonia was the Arts Educator of the Year in Louisiana 1999 and also a recipient of the designation Woman of the Year 2000 for City Business Newspaper- ArSi and Vision were showcased in the 2001 Louisiana Presenters Network and the Jamlar/ Rampart Street Music European Showcase.
ArSi and Vision have performed at Trinity Episcopal Concert Series, House of Blues Gospel Brunch, Storyville District Gospel Showcase/ Louisiana Jukebox (COX 10), the Louisiana Jazz and Heritage Festival Gospel tent, the New Orleans Black Heritage Festival, the Praline Connection Gospel Night,etc... We also lectured and performed in Honduras, Peru, and Sydney Australia with the Spanish ministry of Faith Church (in New Orleans) and Temple De Fe (of Lima, Peru (2001-2005). Oh Yes! BY THE GRACE OF GOD, WE SURVIVED HURRICANE KATRINA.
