Walter ovtha woodz started Biomass audio visualization experiments in Los Angeles, California 1990.  Biomass is an emotionally dynamic electrosonic energy field he developed through psychedelic meditation in a dark immersive sound environment, primarily headphones.  He sees Biomass waveforms as having multi-dimensional potential for psychonauts & dancers. 
With Keyth Mcgrew of Second Culture on synths, performances are a trance fusion of human energies, live playing & processing of harmonically dense sequences surrounded by an environment of projected biomass digital imagery & pvc sculptural objex.
Biomass has steadily built a small following across Southern California opening up for artists Kill Memory Crash, Moontribe, Xanopticon, Diskore, DJ Liquid, Producer Snafu, Evolve Music's Dolphin Brain, H.M.S. Healing Mystical Science & Demonslayer.

An energy that unveils psychedelic tones, intense electronic splashing and a subtle strain of tribal-warfare has Biomass lining up darkened ambience behind a fog of extraterrestrial coatings.
Biomass 'Energy'
A wash of futuristic audio blurring rips through spatial fabrics on Biomass' 6-track Energy EP. A debut outing for Biometrax, Walter Douglas (aka Walter ovtha woodz, formerly of KUCR's 88.3 FM) began Biomass audio-visualization experiments in Los Angeles, California in 1990 and has since captivated audiences with a synthetic void of elongated auditory stimulus. Organically connected to visual periphery, Energy's six all-encompassing tracks (ranging from two to twenty-two minutes each) become one with the environment as layers of ambient flurries fall upon rusted sound machines gone awry. A particular ripple of electrical noise fuses stretched rhythmic propulsion and lively experiments against blurred melodies dripping in the background. It's difficult not to get lost in Biomass' mechanically enriched sheets as they lock into hypnotic overload, subliminally scratching your brain as it unravels on repeat rotations. An energy that unveils psychedelic tones, intense electronic splashing and a subtle strain of tribal-warfare has Biomass lining up darkened ambience behind a fog of extraterrestrial coatings. Perhaps best suited for one swift listening experience (headphones are definitely encouraged), Energy is a source of subdued power slowly evaporating within the confines closed, misty spaces.
