12 hook-filled songs that combine power pop with synth pop in a fresh and original style

12 MP3 Songs
POP: Power Pop, POP: New Wave

Details:
Do you miss the music of the 80's? If so, you're going to enjoy this CD by Bob Salvati, whose first self-made CD is a showcase of original songs done in a style and fashion that he knows very well - new wave/power pop. Crunchy guitar riffs and sweeping synth lines fill and propel each song while big hooks and catchy melodies will stick in your head like gum.

If you took the musical stylings of The Cars, the Shoes, the Records and Gary Numan and put them all in a blender, this album might be the result. All you have to do is listen to 'Around the dial', 'On the Motorway' or the title track, 'Sonic Receiver', and you'll agree that these 12 songs all have that great 80's sound and feel.

"Love hearing this sort of project! This CD-R made by Salvati himself highlights a sound very few artists mine - and should. Bob Salvati appears to have many of his inspirations from classic Paisley Pop bands of the early 80s, in particular The Three OClock, Game Theory, The Cars, Blondie and "Tounge Twister"-era Shoes. Theres bits of the 70s band Milk n Cookies, too. All of these bands sounds come clearly into the light on the 12 songs here. Bsides the music reminding these ears of all these cool bands, his voice (and this is a good thing as its a classic styling for the power pop idiom) sounds a lot like Michael Quercio(Three OClock) and Ian North(Milk n Cookies).
Slightly herky jerky n choppy guitar lines dot and curve in and out of focus leaving just enough time to grab big bombed out hooks, when thats out of the system, they take a deep breath and let gorgeous melodies linger in a teasing manner as you know they wont be there too long! Without question, charming new wave arrangements make this one feel like it could have been from LA around 1980 as the skinny ties made a fad of themselves. CD-R band pressing. Extremely Highly Recommended"
- Bruce Brodeen, NotLame Records

"New full length 12 song cd! Bob Salvati has delievered a sweet sounding rock/pop/wave cd that is a real gem! If members of The Three O'clock, Joy Electric, The Cars, and T.Rex got together and formed a band it would sound alot like this! This is refreshing and delightful music! A real treat and happy feel good release!"
