Rockin', raw, punkin' folk rock sounds.
11 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Modern Rock, FOLK: Power-folk
Details:
The Satellite Dogs Lowdown:
Mike Debe: Lead vox, guitar, mandolin
Mike Salas: Lead vox, guitar, harmonica
Doug Freyre: Bass, background vox
Alan Combies: Drums
The Satellite Dogs began some years ago when Debe and Salas met from an ad and jammed for about 3 or 4 hours in the hallway of Salasâ rehearsal spot. Freyre came in to add the bottom, making the Dogs a 3 piece until after running with a few drummers they added Combies, which brought them to the songs you now hear.
The songs are what the Dogs are about (try to try not to sing âBlah blah blahâ from the song âListen For a Secondâ over at least a few times). Both Salas and Debe balance their lyrics about everyday things in a way that can sound like youâve been there before sometime in your life. The music revolves around cool chords that get noisy very frequently. Everyone but Combies sings so youâll hear some harmony, and youâll hear some organ, harmonica, percussion, and mandolin wrapped into the frosting.
The Satellite Dogs play all around LA, from Echo Park to Long Beach, always in the thick of things.
