Departures. A nice name and one used by ex-Saratov city (Russia) dj SARATOV when he created his first solo long-player. Well used to making exits and departures himself, SARATOV built this record in his Brisbane old-queenslander bedroom from free loops, found sounds and self-recorded moments during a (temporary) seperation from his gorgeous wife. (It even features her voice, flute and clarinet).

Coming to terms with loss and lonliness have always been powerful triggers for the creative process, none more so than with the process of this recording. Combining downbeat and atmospheric sounds with processed beats and soundscape-like audio, it carries and lifts you along through many sonic arrivals and well, yes, departures.
