*2004..#3 (the white album) ...a CD of love songs with soul and powerful musical accompaniment.* includes "rosemary jane" and "father"..(a review.."Father" made me cry...an anonymous friend of 30 years)....
========================================================
This Vancouver indie artist made this, his best CD, in 2005. It's got Barry with all pistons burning in top form. The writing, singing, playing, and recording is pristine. A concert in itself. From comfortable folk music to modern rock. Barry is the consummate Canadian Storyteller. Three # 1 songs and 23 covers have made his music sought by indie lovers in Australia, the UK, the USA, Europe, and of course his homeland, Canada. #3 has the brilliant "walking down an up escalator", the thought provoking "by this time tomorrow" and the semi-sweet "blue rose". Barry and his Band are having a blast here. Gaye de Lorme (the great Canadian slide player) shines like a diamond. Material ranges from the Canadian anthem "The Quiet Canadians", to the introspective, and rewarding, "Father" (....."all the money in the world won't bring my father back"). This song is the centerpiece of Barry's live show, many have cried. It's a breathtaking piece of art from Canada's indie darling barry greenfield.
