31 MP3 Songs
BLUES: Delta Style, EASY LISTENING: Musicals/Broadway

Details:
Satanâs Preacher Man - The Blues Opera, is a landmark recording in the history of the Blues. Beginning with the legend of Robert Johnson and mixing in the mythology of the Blues, Robert Dwight Brown & Rick Terlep have created a masterpiece of lyrical storytelling and musical composition. Written over the course of nine years and composed over the course of four, this Opera has become (at the same time) a profane, blasphemous, and yet strikingly Christian allegory. The Book of Revelation as told from the Devilâs point of view.

This 2 DISC Compact Disc release has something for everyone, Holy and Unholy, Christian and Satanist alike. It is like nothing you have heard before, âItâs so different, itâs coolâ

At nearly two hours in length, this grand 2 DISC Blues Opera will appeal to fans of the Blues; both Christians and Satanists alike will find great meaning, if one only looks deep enough.

This release also contains enhanced content including the libretto, stage script, and liner notes.

About the Author and Composer:

Robert Dwight Brown, aka Satanâs Preacher Man, has spent the last nine years writing Satanâs Preacher Man: The Blues Opera and working the last four with Rick Terlep, the unfortunate soul who agreed to compose the music for this unholy Opera. In the future, Robert will produce several other Rock Operas with Rick Terlep. Other future endeavors Robert would like to be associated with are having his screenplays optioned by Hollywood, selling his various novel manuscripts, writing a television pilot, working as a video game designer, âbookingâ professional wrestling (Itâs like a Male Soap Opera-Robert), and continuing to write creative works in all his various fields of interest.

By his own admission, Robert has a very limited singing voice; never having been trained as a vocalist. He hoped beyond hope that he would be able to play his own creation Satanâs Preacher Man on the Original Concept Recording of his Blues Opera. (His only other musical theater experience was playing Bill Sykes in OLIVER!) But by studying early Sunday morning televangelist programs, watching the BLUES BROTHERS motion pictures, and spending hours upon hours of bending his vocal chords into sounding like a testifying Baptist preacher who has seen forty years of hard drinking and two packs a day tobacco smoking, he successfully created the distinct âTalkinâ Bluesâ voice of Satanâs Preacher Man.

Rick Terlep became a reluctant member of the Church of Eternal Damnation through no fault of his own. He met Robert Dwight Brown during a poetry reading and never looked back, devoting the next four years of his life to composing the nearly two hours of Blues for the, at times, daunting Blues Opera. All the songs he composed, he has, at one time or another, considered ârubbish!â, but now are haunting and beautiful Blues classics. Rick has played the Blues, in one form or another, for nearly his entire life; he is a true genius of the slide-guitar. Rick was a studio musician in Nashville for a year, before returning to his hometown, the small prairie city of Pueblo, Colorado. Only in Pueblo could Rick encounter Satanâs Preacher Man at that now legendary poetry reading where Tony Moffeit, an unwitting puppet of the Fates, introduced Robert to Rick; the rest they say is history.
The constant guitar accompanist of Tony Moffeit since the early 1980âs, Rick is currently composing the Blues for Tonyâs first album for DigiVintage Records, due soon.
