Drum Lesson No. 17 (Level = Beginner)
In this drum lesson we are looking at four way independence. Drummers need coordination and independence to play the drum kit. Playing the hi hats with the foot as an ostinato and playing eighth notes on the ride cymbal with the leading hand.
Playing a simple drum groove but changing the hi hats from playing quarter notes, off beat eighth notes, eighth notes and then off beat sixteenth notes - drummers need to apply these hi hat ostinatos to other, more complicated, drum grooves.
