All praise to God for helping me complete this third C. D. This C D took longer than I wanted to complete and in the end I sort of rushed it. While I like the C D the art work could have been better. The Name of this C D is THE WAY WE PRAISE .
TRACK 1- MARCHING ON- This song is a song that says if you know the Lord keep marching. The theme comes from the classic song WHEN THE SAINTS GO MARCHING IN. If we are going to be in that number we must keep marching.
TRACK 2- LET ME GET YA CRUNK- This song is about the things that get me crunk. The first verse going to the church that I'm a member at which is New Life.
The second verse is seeing people get saved and seeing young people holding up the light and doing right.
The third verse is doing things with my kids and seeing them grow up.
The forth verse is feelig good because of the Holy Spirit.
These are the things that get me crunk so let me get ya crunk.
TRACK 3- I GOT TO BE ME- This song is saying that I got to be true to who I am. It don't matter what the world is doing I got to be me and you got to be you.
TRACK 4- DON'T GET IT TWISTED- Some Christian forget who they are serving and sometimes they get it twisted. Some act a certain way when the preacher is around but when he is gone they act like God can.t see them. Some Christian have Pastor religion. They only do things when the Pastor is there sometimes they will not even come to church if the Pastor is not there. And some get mad at the church and leave God.
TRACK 5- BUMP BUMP- Some say they want a good man but the way they dress and carry themself they advertise for a one night stand. I don't judge people by the way they dress but I know the type of woman I want for a wife and the way they dress and carry themself is important to me.
TRACK 6- THE WAY WE PRAISE- This is the title track. This song is telling the world that we praise God through hip hop. People who are into jazz praise God through jazz.
I hear all kind of Christian music. Some people have a problem with hip hop because of the beats and they just don't like rap music. I don't like what the world is doing with hip hop but I still can praise God through hip hop. In the bible David wife didn't like how David praise God but God was pleased. God is looking at the heart and this is the way we praise.
TRACK 7- IT'S ABOUT REAL LOVE- This whole song is Tedd Flash idea. He get all the credit for it. In my rap I say "Let me tell you about the love I have for you. Let me tell you the things that love will do. I can talk until my face is blue. Actions will prove whether my love is true." What I'm trying to say it's about real love not just talk.
TRACK 8- LOOKING FOR LOVE- This is a personal song. After a divorce you think about things. What the song is saying is instead of looking so hard for love like I got to have someone I'm going to wait on the Lord to send me someone.
TRACK 9- HOW RADICAL CAN YOU GET- We serve a radical God and it's more than just music. I got radical when I stop going to the clubs and started going to church.
From being a D J to what I am today that is a radical change. So how radical can you get. How much of you're life will you yeild to God.
TRACK 10- RADICAL WAYS- This song go back to the Bible and tells some of the radical things God did. And since God have radical ways let's give him a radical praise.
TRACK 11- STRANGE WOMEN- This song comes from proverbs chapter 7. It deals with a married women trying to cheat on her husband. I don't need to fall into that trap.
TRACK 12- Y U GON DO DAT- This song deals with people who say one thing and do another. They say they are Christians but there lifestyle say something else. Now I have sinned since I been on this side. I have fell many times but I always come back to God asking him to forgive me and not to let it become a lifestyle. It's call repentence which is turning away from your sin and going the other way. Some justify doing wrong instead of getting it right with God so the question is Y U GON DO DAT.
TRACK 13- BACK IN THE DAY-This is a fun song in which I tell how far God brought me.
TRACK 14- MORE THAN ONE WAY- This song is saying there is more than one way to minister. I like this song because I just grab the mike and go for it. There is nothing fancy about this song. Sometimes you just want to get the mike and rap.
TRACK 15- BIG BRO- This is a personal song in honor of my brother that pass on. Thank God for the memories and thank God that I got a chance to do this song. I wrote the words to this song and was trying to decide whether to put it on this C D. Then a friend of mine gave me this beat and I knew it was made for this song. I was surprsed at how well they matched but I knew I had to put this song on this C D. My friend company is call Do It Big productions.
