Details:
Brian Hershberger has been a singer/songwriter for over 30 years. He was busy performing at concert venues and night clubs when Kurt Cobain was learning how to walk and smell like teen spirit. After folk music met it's death when Dylan picked up an electric guitar at Monteray, Brian continued carry the torch of the solo artist. He had the great fortune to play with many eclectic performers from from the 60's and 70's including, Tom Rush, Little Feat and Leon Redbone.
After the release of his previous Cd one fan commented it was " like Steely Dan met Neil Young and had a baby." Even though it was a great compliment to be compared to those great artists, Brian went back to the drawing board to produce a new Cd that had more of it's own identity. The songs from this new cd enabled Brian to be a finalist in the North Carolina Songwriters Contest three years running.
In the mold of other great acoustic artists before him like Jackson Brown, Joni Mitchell and CSNY, Brian writes music with themes common to us all. Songs of loss, reward, lonliness, family and forgiveness. This son of a steel worker may not know the difference between Pittsburgh and Paris, but he does know how to take a melody and attach words that uncover these experiences we all share.
