Details:
Hi, Iâm Scott Yvonne, originally from Sault Ste. Marie Ontario, but now living in Toronto.

My passion and love for music started when I began playing guitar on my older brotherâs Yamaha 6 string. By the time I was fourteen I was writing songs and composing music. My parents would often laugh at me because I would leave in the middle of a movie, without seeing the ending, to go off on my own to compose music and sing. It wasnât until 10th grade when my guitar teacher singled me out for recognition and even gave me a grade of 100 for a song I had written called âHelp the Peopleâ that I fully realized how important music was to me.

Like other young âwant-to-beâ artists I guess I also was rebellious and needed to be on my own. My parents werenât very happy but I left home when I was 16 and moved into my first apartment. The following summer I found a job in Owen Sound Ontario and was able to scratch out a living at Sauble Beach playing guitar and singing on the beach. People began to see me there so often that I became a familiar fixture with my own group of regulars who would come to hear me. I guess I had begun to develop my own following, supporters and new friends. I became enough of a celebrity that some of the local restaurant owners started to give me steady work and ârealâ food. But I began to get restless and moved to Toronto.

My first summer in Toronto was at age 19. I spent most of my time playing and singing on Yonge Street in front of the Eaton Centre. I knew at this point that I wanted a career in music but didnât have any idea how to make it happen. Early one evening while I was playing my guitar I met John Redmond, who at the time was V.P. of Polygram Records. He took an interest in me, talked to me about my music for sometime and gave me inspiration and advice that I will appreciate forever. With his pep talk ringing in my ears and renewed enthusiasm I went on to Humber College that following fall to study music and pursue my dream.

Shortly after the start of that year, the band that I would play and learn with for the next 5 years was starting to form. While we were together there were periods where we would jam and write for months with the doors locked and the phone off. We opened a rehearsal recording studio known as K & S Studioâs and continued to play music as Unisun. By the end of this period however, I knew my music was my inspiration and much of it was influenced by life experiences. The requirement to broaden and grow became an obsession and so I packed up my music gear and headed south.

Living out of the back of my van I traveled North America. On several different occasions I sang with David Hinds in Dallas. Than worked my way east through Atlanta, Georgia landing in South Beach Florida nine months later. South Beach was great but I was getting tired, so I turned my sights north and headed for New York City. I got as far as Rocky Mountain North Carolina when my van broke down and I was able to trade it in for the cost of the tow. With just about nothing in my pocket I jumped on a train to New York where I struggled to survive for the next year and a half, but 911 changed everything and it was time to return to Canada. My curiosity for travel, adventure and life was still not satisfied and so I saved up to buy a motor cycle which I rode coast to coast across Canada stopping in just about every small town and city to play and sing my new material.

In the fall of 2002 I returned to Toronto and with help from some friends locked myself away in a small house on Lake Eugina for that summer to write, record and rehearse. Enriched by my experiences, encouraged by my new friendships and with growing financial support I am performing regularly in Toronto and New York and in a number of cities in the US and Canada.

Releasing my CDâs âFinal Stageâ and âStanding on the Door Stepâ has been a major turning point for me and one of the greatest experiences of my life. My most recent CD is Higher Power and was recorded in Orlando Flordia.

To sing and perform for you those songs that bring us together as one, create energy, exhilaration and inspiration is my passion, and a passion I hope you will share with me.
