The band's influences are highly diverse, drawing on sounds from Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, Tom Petty, King Sunny Ade, Yes, Steely Dan, Miles Davis, The Talking Heads, Led Zepplin, Phish, Bela Fleck and The Flecktones and numerous others, which they apply to their own sound to make it both unique and fresh.

Within weeks of forming, SONAR was spotlighted in âRock the Blockâ at Wall St., a popular hot spot for live music in downtown Orlando.

They have performed at such popular venues as House of Blues, The Backbooth, Pleasure Island, Wall Street, The Social, Hard Rock Live and were featured at both the Bull Creek and Florida Music Festivals. Sonar brought the house down when opening for Jam/World band, Rusted Root at a sold out show at the House Blues Orlando. They also were the organizers and headliners of Camp Jam 06 in New Smyrna Beach, Fl, a festival that featured the best talent in Florida drawing nearly one thousand people. They are set to tour throughout the East Coast in April, culminating with a performance at this year Jazz Fest in New Orleans.
10/06 Update: After jamming at notable east coast venues such as Nectars, the Lions Den Sonar has gained a lot of momentum. They have recently spread to British and Russian airways and were voted best rock for Pulse Radio Nine weeks in a row. Also, they were featured in High Times in June as their unsigned band of the month. Stay tuned for Camp Jam 07.
