Sorry Dogs -Powerful Punk Rock & Roll riffs in the spirit of SNFU, KISS, and CIRCLE JERKS. Skate your ramp to this stuff.
13 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Punk, ROCK: Emo
Details:
The songs on NO DOGS ALOUD are hard driving and catchy with a pop edge thrown in. Not dissimilar to bands like SNFU, DOA and the later sounding albums of the CIRCLE JERKS. If you want to hear samples of this album at high quality then check them out on I-tunes.
At the time of its release the SORRY DOGS were no longer touring and the album took off and sold out its first pressing without a re-print. After 10 years the SORRY DOGS built up a sigificant cult following. Big enough to warrent a second pressing. Now the album is finally starting to get the recognition it deserves., and the LP is now considered a collectors item (only 500 in print.) This is a band whose members were slamming out punk songs long before the revival took hold in the early 90's.
Before the Punk revival took hold in the 90âs, Travis Davidson-(bass) was pounding his 4 string axe with one of Hardcoreâs all time greatest bands- Battalion of Saints. He even wrote two of their best songs, âMy Mindâs Diseasedâ and âSecond Coming,â which he was never credited for. That was back in 1982.
Baggs Otto-(vocals, guitar) was abducted at the green age of 15, in 1985, by an east coast hard-core thrash act called FEAR ITSELF. After opening for legendary punk bands like DRI, DOA, and LUDICHRIST, he appeared on his first record âTil Death Do Us Part,â released by the German thrash label WE BITE Records. Returning to the west coast in 1987, Baggs met up with childhood friend Joe Bortfeld-(drummer) and put together the Skid Marks, a San Diego skate punk act that released âLive it Out,â produced by BAD RELIGIONâS Mr. Brett Gurewitz, in 1989.
So there you have it, an album that combines 70âs rock riffs with the power chords of early eighties punk. This is an important record out of southern California, especially for the aging punk crowd. It is also important for the new generation of punk rockers out there who are looking for something plagued with filth but still juicy as bazooka joe.
