Modern Hard Rock. Heavy riff and groove based kinda stoner rock. If Black Sabbath and Clutch jammed....
13 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Modern Rock, ROCK: 80's Rock
Details:
Sinister Farmers Big Machine
SFBM redefines rock, their music is heavy but musical, grooves ebb & flow, rage is controlled and precise and riffs and wah are galore, space is explored and distinct......
They âbeg, borrow and stealâ from great olâ classics: riff kings Zeppelin / Sabbath and the modern classics like QOTSA, Clutch, Helmet and Kyuss.
Gordon âA.C,â Doherty (guitar) and Craig âHey Zuesâ Sitter (drums) jammed together since they were children of the cornfields in Iowa, âtil they moved to the S.F. bay to find ârock stardomâ more than a decade ago, playing with many musicians, in many different bands, too many to list (o.k, âDysfunctional Familyâ just to mention 1 band), but always together.....
Egos and band politics and not playing the rock they wanted, made them quit the scene and each other, but after a couple of years off, in the summer of 2005 they started jamminâ again, but this time they vowed to play the music and only the music they love.
Lo and Behold they ran into fellow Iowan, Ex- âLoki & Fuzzplowâ drummer turned solo acoustic (!?), not with this âMachineâ, Dave âCoachâ Smith (I guess that is his real name... ) he took the mic one night and never let go!
He brings a lilâ âRageâ to the mix and does a great, young Ozzy impersonation. Wait, isnât Ozzy dead? and isnât âCoachâ his reincarnation?
Their music was bottled up for long so it came easy, it exploded out of them, they wrote part âoneâ of the album in the first few jams, hence the tight drum /guitar riffage,
Part âtwoâ came when they realized that a rock band isnât a rock band without at least a decent bass player, and after some soul searching they realized that this time is was mandatory to be Iowan! Scotty ââD.C.â Powell, from Muscatine IA, was willing to man the Machineâs bottom end, heâs also only the best rockinâ bass player in all the lower 48 states!, he luuuuves the 80âs (ugh), and he plays a mean bass solo!
SFBM is redefining the state of rock!
but aaah the story isnât done....
Thru a mutual fishinâ pal they meet their nemesis in producer, Andre âFlyin Dutchmanâ ZweerZ. He pulls more dynamics out of the boys only to squash it again in the mix. They recorded their first demo with him in their practice dump, but now have their first full length CD, recorded in a real studio.
quotes
âi waited all my life for a effinâ band like this (she really didnât use effinâ but it looked good in this bio.)
thereâs no filler on this albumâ etc. etc...
