BIOGRAPHY OF ANGELA SIRACUSA

Angela Siracusa: This outstanding vocalist/composer electrifies all audiences in a flash with her panache, energy and striking appearance. Her voice has strength and clarity and she sings with passion and haunting tenderness. She manages her many brilliant talents with intelligence, discipline and commitment. The genre of her music is Pop at its various levels. Her newly released Album, Movân On, is already keenly anticipated within the Toronto music scene.

The Albumâs uniqueness is the result of concerted teamwork. Angela Siracusaâs lyricist, young, restless Desiree Corso who writes about relationships and temporary lifestyles, wanted to write for Angelaâs music desperately: "Within seconds, of hearing Angela sing one of my lyrics, I knew just then that this dynamic songstress would be the one who would take my lyrics to a new level. It has been full throttle since."

Angela Siracusaâs highly accomplished musician brother, Mike Siracusa, is the producer of Movân On and, as a celebrated musician, is also her mentor. Mike Siracusa and his vocalist/composer musician partner, Catarina Cardeal, have strong performing ties to the CBC, being featured for their Fado Blues there, and at events such as the Distillery Jazz Festival. They are already stars on the firmament of eclectic music. The other featured musicians are Claudio Vena, world-renowned composer/violinist; Martin Aucoin, most accomplished keyboardist, and Michael Borkosky, acclaimed producer, engineer singer/songwriter and musician.

Angela Siracusa communicates with ease about what propels her:

âThere are no inhibitions for me on stage--I am a drama student first; in love, I am passionate, devoted and wildly entertaining.

Having been on the road for six years was cathartic: I got to act, sing, play and dance, a spiritual experience I knew would build me up, tear me down and build me back up again. A pause from performing live was just that, a pause. Now, after the hiatus of being on the road, I am back, leaving behind managing other bands and leaving behind my world travels as a marketing director in the corporate world. I will venture off again and reignite the inevitable journey set out for me to create music for others to experience.

Writing/composing creates moods. It can be momentous. My genre is Rock, New Country, Blues, and Dance. Whatever the mood I choose, it is all Pop! Creating music to lyrics is methodical for me. All my senses are on overload. I visualize the scene first; the sound follows, then a song develops with a life of its own. It just happens for me and I canât stop it. My biggest challenge to writing songs is running out of time but not ideas.

The theme of Movân On is personal. Itâs indignant and triumphant! When you know what you want and what you have to do to get it, I say just do it! Movân On touches on several emotions; ultimately my intention is courageous, not destructive. We all have had to make hard decisions that result in ending something old for something new. Iâve learned about boundaries and being honest to myself and stop being so apologetic. This is my story and Iâm Movân On to another place and I am ready!â
