Details:
This CD is a compilation of some of my favorite songs I have written. Since I am not a singer, I just sing the song on tape and play the melody on keyboard for the band to record.
Once they learn the songs, they record these in a recording studio to master and complete the CD.
I began loving country music in the 1970's. The stories told in the songs are what I liked the most. I always wanted to write songs. Then later in life when my mother died, that same weekend, my oldest son had moving plans and the youngest son got his driver's license. Suddenly there was a great void in my life and lots of time on my hands.
So, in the spring of 1998, I began to write country ballads. Then I wrote 21 gospel songs and am working on two cds now.
"CHEATIN' HEARTS AND LYING EYES" is about a girl who has had enough!
"YOUR MORNING DEW" is a song that simple says 'love goes on forever'! (no matter what your lovers pet name is).
"DON'T FORGET TO REMEMBER" is a woman reminding her husband to remember when love began and to keep it there.
"IT'S BEST TO FALL" came from the old saying, 'it's better to have loved and lost than not to have loved at all'.
"FAR BEYOND" is a descriptive wedding song which tells how love goes beyond the flesh.
"IT TAKES TWO" the title says it all.
"MY DADDY'S LOVE" is a story of a 14 year old girl who's mother died and was pitted against her daddy's love when she fell in love. (my favorite).
"MY LOVE HOLDS AN OCEAN FOR YOU" plainly she tells him actions are bigger than words!
"THE STARS IN YOUR EYES" He tells her about the love he sees in her eyes.
"SO CARRY ON" is a military tribute for all military.
"A SOLDIER DIED" is a memorial song for all soldiers of all wars who died in battle.
I always try to write songs where the music and lyrics work together and that is the real challenge and fun part of writing songs. I know it's a gift from God and I find it very fulfilling trying to write songs that will touch someone's heart.
