Details:
Amazing opportunities and progress by leaps and bounds marble the entity that is Six Days to Nowhere; 4 guys out of San Mateo, CA who share a unified dream of musical success. On June 2, 2006, Six Days to Nowhere makes their debut at Slims in San Francisco for nearly two hundred people. The significance of this moment is not lost on those who were there; the band had been trying to build a lineup for 3 years... Adam Missimore (guitars) and Alex Gomez (drums) formed the band in early 2003, hauling their gear into a shoe-box sized in-law apartment, and immediately writing songs, minus a singer or bassist. The energy is undeniable...and so begins the struggle of building a line-up. For over a year, members came and went, either because of lack of dedication or talent. Entire sets were written and then trashed. The process seemed eternal. No matter how close Adam and Alex were to having a full band, on any given day they would have to start from scratch, playing together for an empty room...and yet never giving up on the dream. Finally, after working with 7 bassists over 15 different vocalists, what appears to be a true working lineup is formed... Brendan McCarthy (vocals) and Adam met by chance in a food court, began talking about music, and connected instantly. Brendans talent as a singer was electricity to the band; hope was revived, and with the addition of a new bassist, the band went into the studio as Maldecion... The victory was short-lived; a darkness in Brendan was taking a heavy toll on the progress of the band. Missed practices, terrible performances, and weeks of no contact were still not enough to start the search for a new singer, so great was Adam and Alexs belief in Brendans potential. Then one day in early 2005, Brendan just disappears... Once again Adam and Alex were left staring at each other, one more lineup gone, one more set of songs to trash, still not willing to give up the dream. After several more failed attempts at forming a band, they get word from Brendan, and learn that he needed time to deal with his troubles. Despite all the feelings of frustration and disappointment, they know Brendan is the vocalist the bands needs, and decide to wait for him. For the sake of progress, Adam and Alex hook up with a singer/bassist named Bo Winterburn, record a few songs and even get brief radio play on Live105.3 in San Francisco... April, 2006: After 14 months without a singer, Brendan returns, driven to grab by the reins the opportunity still waiting. Adam and Alex had been preparing for several months with a new (and final) bassist, A.J. Davenport. Six Days to Nowhere is formed! Three months into the life of Six Days to Nowhere, a 7-song EP. is pressed, they have played venues such as Slims (SF), the Phoenix Theater (Petaluma), and the world famous Viper Room with well respected band Vast (LA), and has recieved radio play on the legendary 107.7 the Bone. All hell cant stop Six Days to Nowhere. Even 20+ lost members. Even 35+ trashed songs. For three years, family members and close friends had said the band will never happen, they will never play a show, and they would end up sorry and worthless for time wasted on a dream that would never be. Fuck you is what they said.
