Details:
'Some of the best mainstream sounding music released this year!'
- OUAS magazine

'Simon combines jangly, alt-rock guitar with dulcet harmonies and sensetive songwriting, packing more florid metaphors than you can shake a stick at!'
- East Bay Express

'The music speaks to you through strong images the lyrics create... the more you listen the more you will be able to pinpoint why you like Simon... Simon proves that pop doesn't have to be shoved down your throat to be effective or liked...'
- Music Scene

'It's the tightness of the lazy groozes that works, a nice dichotomy which keeps these songs spinning from one point to another... and these songs are certainly in motion at all times...'
- Aiding & Abetting Magazine

'whatever else the band's music may be, it's certainly not boring & will grab you right from the first track...'
- hEARD Magazine

The band is Simon.......

While backpacking throughout South America, Paul and Bob began forming the creative ideas that would lead to the inception of Simon. The name Simon is distilled from two contrasting influences; one, the South American liberator, Simon Bolivar, and the other, a notable personality in academia. These bipolar influences are central to many of the themes presented in their music; the struggle between passion and intellect, between conscience and cogence, between love and labor. In his songwriting, Paul combines humor and pathos with lyrical drama. He sings stirring and shiny vocal melodies framed with sometimes-elegant, sometimes-potent-and-crunchy acoustic guitar patterns. Classically trained on French Horn, his main instruments are now voice and guitar. Bob is a multitalented instrumentalist who has achieved a level of mastery on the bass guitar that few musicians ever reach. He works rhythms, melodies, and harmonies with absolute skill. His bass parts are intensely lyrical. He also sings and composes music for the group. Eric learned percussion in the most extreme way; as a practicing demolitions expert! He provides a precise and powerful meter for the group, bringing the music danceable beats with a solid foundation of rapidly moving rock. He has found the ultimate placement of his talents in the tight grooves of Simon. Harry, the newest member of the group, honed his skills playing and singing in various groups in New York/Metropolitan area. He performed at the 1986 World's Fair in Vancouver, British Columbia and recorded all of the electric guitar tracks on the soundtrack for the off-Broadway play 'UpsideDown.'
