Kid's Rock Alternative: Parental Caution Advised: Some songs include gross stuff that kids enjoy(1,2,9,10,11). Some rock, some rap, some acoustic, and some just weird. All fun, Fun, FUN, and they don't grate parental nerves.
13 MP3 Songs
KIDS/FAMILY: Kid Friendly, KIDS/FAMILY: Children's Pop
Details:
Silly Stevie T. loves music, so he encourages his children to listen and enjoy as well. One day, he was laughing with pride as he watched his seven-year old daughter sing along with a song on the radio. Suddenly, his pleasure was destroyed as he tuned his mind to the lyrics and realized exactly what his little girl was singing. Something like, "back it up baby, let me see what'cha got".
As Silly Stevie T. paid more attention to the words assaulting his children, he realized many of them were only appropriate for listeners above eighteen, and some still questionable even then. Sex, drugs, alcohol, and violence have all become commonplace in today's society, but that doesn't mean we have to subject our children to them before they are mentally and emotionally prepared.
Silly Stevie T. began searching for kid's music, but he quickly encountered a large collection of songs his children just would not listen to, or songs that most adults just could not endure. Teaching songs, preschool songs, and poor-quality productions abounded. Silly Stevie T. was having trouble finding what seemed like a simple request: rock and roll songs that sound like the radio but have words made for kids.
Shortly thereafter, Silly Stevie T. decided to create some of his own songs that fit this bill. The title of his first collection, Kids Just Want To Have Fun!, conveys the spirit and feeling of the songs. Several of the tunes are simple fun with sounds or wordplay, while others try to capture a view of life from the childâs perspective. With this album, Silly Stevie T. is hoping to give parents and children an alternative that will allow them to enjoy music without frustration or fear of exposure to adult topics.
