This new CD âThursday Night at Marilynâsâ is the culmination of some great jams over the years. The String Dusters have gathered some of Delmarva's best musicians and singers for a musical journey that covers old time fiddle and hammered dulcimer tunes to Celtic inspired melodies and classic mountain style gospel songs.
Marilyn Long infuses her passion for old time fiddle tunes with every note she plays on the hammered dulcimer.
Mickey Justice brings his passion for Celtic music and poured it into the String Dusters traditional mountain style and a new flame was born! When Mickey plays harmony on his mandolin to Marilyn's hammered dulcimer, the music that is produced is breathtaking!
Steve Quillen, the best fiddle player on the whole Peninsula, joins the String Dusters on this CD after years of jamming and filling in on show dates with them. Steve tears it up on this CD!!!
Frank Nanna infuses his bluegrass roots into the mix with his guitar and banjo playing. Frank also joins in on all the harmony vocals.
The mother and daughter duo of Dottie and Sarah Beth Meadows brings the kind of harmony that only blood can create! The String Dusters heard them sing at the Berlin Fiddler's Convention and fell in love with their blend and vocal abilities. Sarah Beth can wail !!!!
Annie Williams, a regular at the Thursday night jams, brings authentic West Virginia style old time fiddle to the CD. Annie's roots run deep with every note she plays.
Larry Lynch, a superlative upright bass player with the timing of a Rolex, holds the bottom together on this foot stomping, toe tapping, heart thumping CD.
