Born and raised in Chicago's West Side, Gino Stax aspired to be a rap artist since childhood. The dream seemed fleeting until circumstances caused a major change in his life. Growing up in an area with a "lot of killing going on" and his own family facing violence, Stax found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time and ended up with over 2 years of lockdown time to focus on his music, lyrics and a new path that would take him out of gang life into the good life.

Musically Stax incorporates his Puerto Rican heritage and Chicago roots to create a rap style that reaches out, keeps it "real" delivers a message, and is uniquely his own. Gino's lyrics come from real life experiences, and are about people, places and things that either try to hold him back, or show him love. Either way, GINO STAX cannot and WILL NOT be denied his rightful place in the rap game. His album clearly demonstrates this and will be the next big rap album to break from Chicago, hot on the heels of successes from Kanye West & Twista.
