Fresh tunes with North State roots Shasta County Country

13 MP3 Songs
COUNTRY: Country Folk, FOLK: Modern Folk

Details:
Singer-songwriter Erin Friedman has been playing with words, music and the truth for more than twenty years, hanging out on the corner where traditional country music meets folk. Erin teams with her husband, bass player and vocalist, Craig Friedman, to form the duo Still Married. Their engaging tunes focus on the colorful landscape and characters of Shasta county, love, life and the messy things that make it all interesting.

Still Married uses acoustic guitar, electric bass, expressive vocals and a dose of humor to weave their song stories. Whether they are extolling the virtues of enduring love or weaving a tale of unrequited love and revenge, their playful lyrics and austere arrangements revive the age-old tradition of "songwriter as storyteller." After twenty years of marriage, the Cottonwood couple shares an intuitive understanding, evident in their vocal blends, gentle rhythms and heartfelt harmonies.

Still Married has performed their original tunes at Reddingâs Old City Hall, The Shasta District Fair, The Sports Bar, The BareStage Theatre and other venues.

"The 13 heartfelt, original songs stand on their own in this honest forum." --- Jim Dyar, Redding Record Searchlight.
