Exploration of sound and innovative collaboration of music is the philosophy behind The Stove. Originally formed in 1997, producer Eduard Glukhov evisioned a single cell orchestra. Proving the fact that you don't need a bass player or a drumer to be a band. The Stove is nearly uncatagorizable because their sound ranges from trip-hop to jazz to ambient to jungle. Needless to say, they are extremely haunting with hypnotically dark rhythms. Fronted by songstress Kristen Muirhead, The Stove relies on her muse-scream/siren-dream/angel-cre voice with beautifully integrated harmonies. Accompanied by classically trained violinist Katya Murafa, who delicately decorates the music with her eastern European gypsy accents.
