THE SONGWRITER
--------------------------
STEVE MILLARD grew up in Arlington, Virginia in a house filled with the music of Beethoven, Brubeck, Dylan, Chopin, and church hymns. In elementary school he played piano and drums, then switched to alto sax and flute in junior and senior high. At Pomona College, Steve played in the jazz band under the direction of Bobby Bradford.

In 1980 Steve put music on hold, moved to Seattle, and got a Ph.D. in Biostatistics from the University of Washington. In the late 1980âs he began playing sax again, studying first with Johnny Jessen, and then Don Lanphere. In the Fall of 2000, a piano in need of a babysitter rolled into Steveâs life and he began taking piano lessons. Since then Steve has written jazz, country, and pop songs. He has released two CDs: "Wrapped Up in Your Kiss", a collection of jazz standards, and "Steve Millard x 2", which includes a powerful teen ballad of love and a moving country ballad of family.

Steve currently lives in Seattle with his wife and son.
