Details:
Stingeray, legally named Wilstein Nicasia Murray and affectionately called Norris was born June 6, 1970 to Mr. and Mrs. Adulphus Murray in the small community of Lime Tree, Trelawny. As the only child growing up with his newly single dad, he found comfort in learning songs and singing in church. Through out his young years he developed his talent as a singer but also as a writer, he channeled his loneliness and problems into written words. At the age of ten he wrote his first song called âThe Master of the Universe.â

At age 17 Stingeray moved from his small community to Ocho Rios to pursue music professionally. There he would later discover some life changing knowledge, extraordinary abilities and experiences that would set him on the path to becoming a more grounded spiritual man, a teacher, motivator, and an inspiration to his closest acquaintances and friends. While in Ocho Rios, he managed to maintain a successful recording and performing career with bands such as Wrightâs Inco-Operated and Irie Grove. He also did exciting collaborations with dedicated and talented extraordinaires like Mickey Spice, Benji Myas, Stan Ric and Merrick Dyer to whom he expresses endless gratitude.

Through the years after Ocho Rios, Stingeray could only hear one truth that kept hammering at his heart and that was to get deeper into his music. Destiny called, so he kept himself busy learning about any and everything and adding to his experiences through traveling. Stingeray basically lived in the fourteen parishes of Jamaica, driven and pulled by his hunger for music. He then later moved to the island of St Vincent where he continued to perform and created music. After which it was Trinidad where he worked on his album. Everywhere he went, Stingeray was always willing to share his most prominent talent with everyone.

His many years of chasing his music master are paying off now more than ever. Like anyone else who's had a tumultuous past music has brought him comfort. So confident, knowledgeable, wise, talented and spiritual. He has used his blessings to improve his musical talents in writing, producing, performing and teaching. His ability is versatile, able to create anything in any genre of music. His sound is passionate, captivating and distinctive. In every piece of music he creates, any musical novice can hear his signature. His writing styles are full of light heartedness and depth, never failing to touch on his emotions, consciousness and spirituality.

Stingerayâs love and devotion to music lend hands to him now being a recording engineer, producer, song writer and recording artist. Among these talents, he is also quite skillful at playing the keyboard, bass guitar, trap set and the congo drum. He still spends sleepless nights working on music. He recently worked on projects piloted and successfully complete by himself with the help of his protégé Exco. In this exciting moment of his career, he has also co-produced rhythms called Heart and Rebel that you may catch on the Jamaican airways. Thanks to T Dread who inspected and reproduced during recording and mixing.

His dedication to his craft does not stop with the focus on himself. He never forgets one of his most personal and rewarding missions. That is to teach and minister to people through music. He calls himself a musical missionary. Why? In his early years in Ocho Rios, he gained such a deep understanding of people and how important it was to connect with them, especially through music. Stingray does not believe in judging others nor does he discriminate when using his talents to reach a heart or being a friend. Though he has such a passionate and sincere love for music he realizes that music does not belong to him alone. It is a gift God personally gave him to enrich and sustain his life. As a teacher, he does not only impart knowledge, he is also a motivator. He is surrounded daily by friends, students and acquaintances that are eager to learn from him. He uses his gift from God to nurture their and attain spiritual and mental freedom.
Expect nothing less from Stingeray, heâs only just begun. He endeavors to do nothing but the best.
