The Shy Trafficker is an interesting equation to crack; it possesses an elaborate infrastructure of instrumental indie rock ideals, a jazz-sensibility, and heroic interludes to build thematic âsongs within a song.â Its final appeal is its fine-tuning and modulation of emotions leaving one both delighted and confused. The Shy Trafficker has been described to have a âChicagoâ type sound which builds with raw materials based on rhythm and dancing complexities coming from only three players. Often the Shy Trafficker is associated with bands such as Pele, Pell Mell, and Tortoise. The Shy Trafficker consists of John Campos on bass guitar, Mark Coburn on guitar, and Kenny Day on drums. The band originated in San Antonio, TX, but couldn't take the humid summers anymore so they relocated to Seattle in July 2005.
