Indie Pop Rock
11 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Classic Rock, FOLK: Political
Details:
Steven James Band features singer/songwriter Steven James Zdroik, guitarist Steve McKnight, and the rhythm section of Raymond Esparza and Craig Spendlove. Their second full length CD, entitled "Get Up and Run," is an eleven song CD mish mash of indie and classic rock, emo and alternative, with a little bit of Americana thrown in. As with their last CD ("Life Starts Now"), "Get Up and Run" is all about the songs. This time around James shares the writing credits on three tunes with Steve McKnight. It's a good turn down a rockin' road for the band, adding a little extra sonic punch to the package. From the steady groove of the title track to, the mellow stylings of "Demands of the Day," through the oh-so-current topical folk ballad "Solider's Song" all the way to the metallic "Lay Down," it's an irresistable package.
