Stephen Cooper was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela on January 17, 1981, Cooper began to play guitar at the age of 12, after mastering the guitar he moved into singing and then songwriting. In early 1999 he joined a local death metal band called "Eterna Oscuridad", he played guitar and wrote a couple of songs while he was in this band but he quit and formed his own band. In the beginning it was difficult for him to find musicians that share the same vision that he had, months later, tired of looking for bandmates he entered a local studio to record some songs that he had written, for this demo Cooper performed all the instruments and produced it as well. After recording this demo Cooper recruited live musicians and "Infeccion Mental" was born, the band started playing gigs around the area and built a small following. In 2001 "Infeccion Mental" disbanded and in 2002 Cooper went solo. Stephen Cooper released his first EP in early 2003, "Beautiful Disease" the opening track was featured on the "Vinyl And Violence" compilation released by "SpiderBite Studios". Later that year, Cooper hit the studio again to record his debut album entitled "Self-Degradation Of The Human Being", the first sessions didn't go well, Cooper wasn't happy with the recording of the album and after recording the tracks he builds his own studio to mix the album himself. After months trying to fix the album, Cooper realizes that the tracks weren't salvageable and re-records the album all over again, the album was finally finished by the summer of 2005, Cooper tried to license it to record labels, but everyone rejected it, leading him to form his own record label called "Punishment Records". Cooper has also provided music for "Light And Dark Productions" and has been featured on numerous internet radio shows and compilations.
