Great Pop Rock Alternative Album

10 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Modern Rock, ROCK: Emo

Details:
The band first formed in the summer of 2000 and quickly became a regular on the Southeastern College circuit. Playing shows all over the Southeast as a party band, Standard Candle honed their skills both as musicians and entertainers. The band quickly learned that talent was only a small part of being a successful rock band. Through hard work and dedication, the band trudged through a vigorous schedule, playing four hour shows eighty times or more a year. After two years of playing for others, the band decided to play for themselves, and began work on their first independent record. The band wrote, recorded, produced and released their first record, Juliets Dying, to excellent reviews in early 2002. Though independently released, the album had a mature sound that showcased the bands ability to write intelligent songs with a pop flare. The band was immediately compared to artists such as U2, Live and Tonic, having a strong lead vocal presence and the ability to write songs that relate to many people in many different ways. Juliets Dying was a moderate success, selling over 2000 copies and spinning in rotation at several college and mainstream radio stations throughout the Southeast. Though the album did not go platinum by any means, it was all the assurance the band needed to continue writing songs for their follow up album. In the summer of 2004 the band enlisted the help of producer Jason Elgin (Wayne, Lynam, Blue Epic) to record their second full length album. Under the heavy hand of their new producer, the band refined their songwriting skills and honed their musicianship. Standard Candle finished the album in the summer of 2005 and is due to release the album in April of 2006.
