Formed in May of 2002, and performing live regularly since December of the same year, Sunflower Sutra has taken the Pacific Northwest by surprise! Drawing their cues from the pioneers of Rock and Roll, Sun-Su blends the incredibly distinct sounds of their influences (Jazz, Blues, Psychedelia, Folk, World, and of course an entire history of Rock and Roll) into a cornucopia of musical diversity capable of appeasing the most varied group of listeners.

Armed with an incredible diversity of sound, Sunflower Sutra takes audiences on a musical journey at every show, crooning with soft jazzy ballads, wooing with familiar bluesy grooves, adrenalizing with head-banging rockers, swinging with traditional Americana and folk inspirations, shoe-gazing with psychedelic improvisational jams, and mystifying with sounds and pulses from the Mediterranean and beyond.
